George J. Helwig, Jr.

George J. Helwig, Jr. of West Haverstraw passed away suddenly on September 25, 2015 at the age of 30. Born in North Tarrytown on March 2, 1985, he was the beloved son of George J. Helwig and Mary Beth Lynch. George had lived in Tarrytown. He later graduated from North Rockland High School where he was an avid baseball player. He also went on to attend college.

George is survived by his loving parents George (Mary) Helwig and Mary Beth (Donal McMahon). He is also survived by his special, dear sisters Melissa, Samantha and Danielle as well as his grandmother Marilyn (Molly) Helwig and his grandfather Joe Murano. In addition, he is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. George was predeceased by his grandfather George ‘Brud’ Helwig, his grandmother Ruth and his grandmother Mary O’Shea Sheehy, his cousin Daryld Hamilton and his uncle Charles Helwig.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Church Sleepy Hollow at 11:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
