Welcome to the memorial page for

Rozann Gail (Dane) Spero

April 9, 1949 ~ May 28, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Rozann was born in Chicago, Illinois to Leo and Fern Dane.  She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Spero, MD, brother Andrew Dane, sister Ivy Dane, daughters Alexis Darro and Vanessa Spero-Swingle, and grandchildren Lucy, James Jr., Leo, and Eli.

Rozann was an Artist.   She worked in the fashion industry at notable organizations, such as Henri Bendel, Frederick Atkins Inc., and Here and There Fashion Forecasting in New York City.  Rozann completed courses at the University of Miami, Tobe-Coburn School for Fashion Careers, and Rockland Community College/State University of New York.  She excelled in a myriad of artistic expressions.  A published photographer, she shared her visual interpretations of the world through her pictures.  She successfully sold her eclectic jewelry pieces and painted jewelry boxes at local fairs and businesses.  Rozann was also employed as a model and was featured in national publications.

Rozann regularly volunteered at organizations such as: East Ramapo School District, Rockland Center for the Arts, United Cerebral Palsy Organization, New York Foundling Hospital, and New York Honduran Overseas Committee.  Her wider than life smile and superb organization skills were a welcome addition to the sites she volunteered at.

Rozann was a charismatic, passionate, artistic woman.  Her love of life, experiences, people, and her family showed in everything that she accomplished and the person who she was.  She will be sorely missed but her spirit and legacy live on in her children and grandchildren and those she touched throughout her life.  A celebration of Rozann’s life will take place every day.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests tribute and memorial donations be made out to the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center (https://setonpediatric.org/).  Donations are accepted via phone (914-294-6300), online (https://setonpediatric.org/donate/), or by mail (Attention: Jaime Ronco, Institutional Advancement Office, Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, 300 Corporate Boulevard South, Yonkers, NY 10701).
