Renee A. (Frankolino) Tacoma

Renee A. Tacoma, a longtime Elmsford resident died October 15, 2015 at the age of 91. Born in Yonkers on July 4, 1924, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Rose Ciancuilli Frankolino. For more than 40 years, Sal and Rose operated Sal’s Superette on Orchard Street in Tarrytown.

Renee grew up in Tarrytown and North Tarrytown and was a graduate of North Tarrytown High School. On June 1, 1947, she married Vincent A. Tacoma in St. Teresa’s Church. The couple moved to Elmsford in the 1950’s.

Renee worked for New York Telephone for over 25 years when she retired as a supervisor. She had been a member of the Pioneers Club while at NY Telephone. She had also been a member of the Tarrytown Seniors and the Greenburgh Seniors.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Tacoma of Elmsford, Eileen Tacoma (Funigiello) of Elmsford, Denise Cookingham of Elmsford and Annette (Stephen) Leo of Closter, NJ. She is also survived by her 6 grandsons Wesley (Amber Liebold) Cookingham, Michael Cookingham, Ryan (Haylie Poses) Funigiello, Jamie (Nikki DiMicelli) Funigiello, Nicholas Leo and Mathew Leo and her great granddaughter Kayleigh Cookingham. Also surviving is Joseph Funigiello. Her husband Vincent predeceased her on March 17, 1983 and she was also predeceased by her brother Gerald Frankolino and her sister Lucille Carpenter.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Monday at the Church of the Magdalene at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
