Manuel Gasch

Manuel Gasch, 79, died peacefully after an extended illness on August 31, 2016 in Tarrytown, NY.   Born in Alcora, Spain on January 28, 1937 to Cristobal Gasch and Isabel Miralles, Manuel
studied at the University of Valencia, where he was awarded a doctorate in philosophy and later earned a master’s degree at Connecticut College in New London, Ct.   He taught at the University of Zaragoza for several years before emigrating to the United States in July of 1971.

Once in New York, Manuel became involved in the introduction of Spanish ceramic tiles to the U.S. market, forming his own importing company, Spanish Tiles, Ltd. in 1977.  In 1989 he established Terra Tile and Marble with showrooms in Briarcliff Manor, Manhattan and Fishkill, NY.

Manuel resided in Yorktown Heights for 33 years and moved to Tarrytown in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his son, David (Jessica), grandsons, Daniel, Dylan and Griffin.  He also leaves his brother, Julio, his sister Maria Isabel and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 10:30 at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
