Cesare and I wanted to take the time to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your dear sweet Mom. I have to say, your Mom had such a nurturing personality and was always genuinely happy to see us whenever she was here in Canada visiting. I remember way back when I was just a teen, staying at her place for a few weeks and how she made it her mission to make sure I was well fed and well attended to. I remember the scrambled eggs she used to make for me every morning and the affectionate hugs she’d give me daily. She was definitely one of my favourite aunts and her smile could light up a room. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by so many.

Here is a quote from Tim Keller, a well known pastor, speaker and author. I think he sums up the true joy we will experience for those that are i n Christ

" One of the deepest desires of the human heart is for love without parting. Needless to say, the prospect of the resurrection is far more comforting than the belief that death takes you into nothingness or into an impersonal spiritual substance. The resurrection goes beyond the promise of an ethereal, disembodied afterlife. We get our bodies back, in a state of beauty and power that we cannot today imagine. Jesus’ resurrection body was corporeal – it could be touched and embraced, and he ate food. And yet he passed through closed doors and could disappear. This is a material existence, but one beyond the bounds of our imagination. The idea of heaven can be a consolation for suffering, a compensation for the life we have lost. But resurrection is not just consolation – it is restoration. We get it all back – the love, the loved ones, the goods, the beauties of this life – but in new, unimaginable degrees of glory and joy and strength."

My dearest Concettina your passing has left a big hole in my heart since then my mind goes constantly to the first time we met in Capo D'orlando in 1956.
I was a scared 18-year-old just out of school when I came to Sicily to meet my future in law's and there you were like an Angel of mercy with your beautiful smile and your charm to introduce me to the D'Amico's family and friends.
To make it complete you also took me to your lovely village ( Angelo di Brolo ) to introduce me to your own family.
It was a pleasure to meet your parents your sister Lucia and your brother Vincenzo and his young family.
With your kindness and outgoing personality you made that trip a success and since then we became best friends.
You will be greatly missed my sweet sister in law/friend by me and my family.
Rest in peace.
Someday we shall meet again
My deepest condolences to all the family

Ti voglio tanto bene!
Tua nipote Anna dall'Italia

Our deepest condolences to the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Zia Concettina had a lovely smile and always warm, kind and comforting words that left her mark, she will surely be missed.
I will always cherish fond memories of zia Concettina: as a child sitting on her lap and being held in her arms and calling her “zia bella”, as a teenager when I and the rest of the family were welcomed into her home as new immigrants in America, and throughout her whole life she was always there for us, distance didn’t seem to matter, either in person or by phone we never lost touch. She was a truly polite and elegant lady inside out, completely dedicated to the family. May she rest in peace, in God’s lovely garden with no more suffering, and I hope and wish that one day we will meet again with the rest of our predecessors.
I would like to add this prayer to Jesus for the soul of zia Concettina (ref, our daily prayer booklet).
“May Christ, who died for you, free you from the death that never ends.
May Christ, the Son of the living God, set you in the evergreen loveliness of his paradise, and may He, the true shepherd, recognize you as one of his own.
And so, having taken your place in the ranks of the blessed, may you enjoy the happiness of heaven, forever and ever. Amen”

(ref. cantico dei cantici 2-10) “Ora parla il mio diletto e dice: alzati amica mia, mia bella e vieni!”
