I loved Bridget with all of my heart. She and I sat side by side, almost every night, for five years. We referred to each other as Littermates, being raised together in a new way of life. Bridget's sly and wry sense of humor kept me giggling and chuckling through some stale lectures. When I had a ruptured appendix, it was Bridget who insisted I go to the hospital: She saved my life! When I moved to Boston, she called me almost every week. She was a committed friend, a fighter for the marginalized, a keeper of secrets, and one of the most genuine souls I have ever known. I will always love you, Bridget! I am so sorry I was not there to comfort you in person, but you are probably cracking jokes with angels now.... and, for that, I am grateful. It has been God's gift to me having known you for 25 years. Until we meet again....
