Yvonne A. (Bordeaux) Alonzo

Yvonne A. Alonzo, a longtime resident of Tarrytown died September 21, 2023 at home with her loving family at her side. She was 84 years old. Yvonne was born in St. Louis, MO on September 10, 1939, the daughter of Selena and Dalton Bordeaux. She was the youngest and last surviving of 15 siblings.

She married Rito A. Alonzo in St. Louis on May 10, 1960. Shortly after the birth of their first child, the family decided to move to New York and eventually found their way to Tarrytown where they settled and raised their family. Yvonne was well known and instantly made friends wherever she went. Her warm smile, sense of humor and friendly disposition endeared her to so many people; from the local butcher, to the hardware store owner and just about every shopkeeper in the area. She was also known as a wonderful cook and many of her children’s friends were sure to be around at mealtime.

Yvonne also loved to travel and spent quite a bit of time in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. And just as in Tarrytown, she made friends everywhere she went there.

Surviving are Rito, her loving husband of 63 years and her children Sophia Alonzo, Anthony Alonzo, Sebrina Alonzo and Joseph Alonzo. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kariann Smith and her great grandchildren Kensie and Elina. 

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 3:30PM.
