Virginia Sampaio of Tarrytown died March 10, 2021 at the age of 69. Virginia was born in Portugal on January 31, 1952 and was one of 9 children born to Alcidio and Alice DaSilva Dinis. She came to the United States as a teenager in 1968.
On November 30, 1976, she married Joaquim Sampaio in St. Teresa of Avila Church. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by Joaquim, her husband of 44 years, her son John (Michelle) Sampaio, her daughter Alexandra Sampaio and her granddaughter Michaela Sampaio. She is also survived by her siblings Antonio Dinis, Afonso Dinis, Maria Cardosa, Jose Diniz, Sebastian Dinis, Aldina Cardosa, Braulio Dinis and George Dinis as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday from 3PM to 7PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required and capacity may be limited. All attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
