Virginia Ann Gheen, a lifelong resident of Tarrytown died July 7, 2024 at the age of 79. Ginny, as she was known to family and friends was born in Tarrytown on September 17, 1944 and was the daughter of Pasquale and Ida (Galassi) Galgano.

After graduation from Sleepy Hollow High School, Ginny went on to become a hairdresser and was the longtime owner and operator of Ginny’s Salon on Kaldenberg Place in Tarrytown.  

She married Donald C. Gheen and they raised their sons in Tarrytown, Ginny loved to play bingo, cards and was an avid bowler. She started a bowling charity to raise money for Rosary Hill Home.

Ginny is survived by her husband Don and her sons Jeff and Donald. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Taryn, Preston and Althea Gheen.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Sunday July 21 from 3PM to 7PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Monday at Transfiguration Church at 10:30.
