Victorina Perez, born November 2, 1929, in La Fermina, Cuba, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her husband, Remberto Perez, her parents, Cipriana Sanchez and Juan Barquilla and eight brothers and sisters.

Victorina was the fifth child in a family of ten children.  She married Remberto Perez on December 13, 1959, in Santiago de Cuba and raised her children in Holguin, Cuba.  In 1983 she migrated to the US running from political persecution. With her husband and children, she settled near family in Tarrytown until moving to Wappingers Falls in 1989 where she lived until moving to Florida in 2023.  She was a homemaker and caregiver.  After her husband’s passing in 1992, she became her family’s pilar and helped raise her grandchildren.  In her spare time, she used to sew for family and friends, which she very much enjoyed doing.   In the latter years, she took pride in drawing and coloring.  She loved sharing and dedicating her work to family and close friends.  But what she cherished the most was being surrounded by family enjoying good food. She was a remarkably strong woman who had a long fruitful life that impacted many along the way.

 She is survived by her children Remberto Perez Jr, wife Yoleisy; Maria Calderin, husband Juan Carlos; and her grandchildren Gabriel, Daniel Perez and Christian, Julian Calderin.  She is also survived by her youngest brother, Ibrahim Barquilla.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8PM at Coffey Funeral Home where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00. Interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery will follow.
