Thomas Downey Obituary
Thomas J. Downey, formerly of Tarrytown died unexpectedly on February 27, 2019 at the age of 74. Born in Tarrytown on September 1, 1944, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Merritt Downey. He was a graduate of Transfiguration School, Stepinac High School and Fordham University.
Tom lived in New York City for many years while working at advertising firms. He later moved to Woodstock, NY where he was enjoying his retirement. He will be remembered as a quiet man who led a simple life, had a great sense of humor and loved his family.
Tom is survived by his brothers John A. Downey of Charlotte, NC and Peter F. Downey of Tarrytown and his sister Mary McGinnis of Fishkill. He is also survived by his 6 nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his niece Marnie McGinnis.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10:30 at Transfiguration Church.
