Theresa R. (Mallet) Ferguson Obituary

Theresa R. Ferguson, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow died January 13, 2026 at the age of 97. She was born in Amesbury, MA on April 15, 1928 and was the daughter of Adelard and Edna (Collette) Mallet. She had lived in Sleepy Hollow until recent years when she moved to Poughkeepsie to be close to her family.


On April 15, 1950, she married Alyre Ferguson in St. Teresa of Avila Church. She had been a Wiring Inspector for the Tensolite Corporation which was in Tarrytown.


Theresa was a lifelong parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church, a member of the Catholic Daughters, the American French Club, the Sleepy Hollow Seniors, and the Senior Canteen of the Neighborhood House.  


She is survived by her loving daughters Sherry Ann Ferguson of Poughkeepsie and Kathy (David) Emma of LaGrange, her beloved grandchildren Scott Ferguson of Sleepy Hollow, Rebecca (Michael) Zeoli of LaGrange and David (Analysia) Emma of Dryden, NY. She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren Eloise, Joseph and Noah Zeoli as well as her daughter-in-law Rosemarie Ferguson. She was predeceased by her husband Alyre Ferguson, her son Gordon Ferguson, her grandson Michael Ferguson, her daughter-in-law Beverly and her sister Jeannette Morrison.


Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday January 19 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 11:00 on Tuesday followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, Theresa had requested donations to breast cancer research.
