Susan (Hockmeyer) Sincero

Susan was raised in Ardsley Park, New York and graduated from the Westover School in Middlebury, CT.  After a stay in Italy, she came back to the states and employed her vivacious personality to bring joy to patients at Phelps Memorial Hospital as a volunteer where she met Dr. Domenico Sincero.  They married in 1963 (divorced in 1979) and had four children, whom she loved fiercely. 

An outgoing woman with a wicked sense of humor, Susan enjoyed many friends, photography, reading, music, playing tennis, gardening, traveling and Bugs Bunny. Once her children were grown, she moved into a beautiful Victorian home in Tarrytown that she tirelessly restored and meticulously maintained its beautiful gardens. You could often find her walking her beloved Bichons in the village, chatting with shop owners and the community. It was for that community that she served as Trustee and helped implement the beautification initiative, the Halloween parade, farmers market and other programs that served the Village she loved. She remained in Tarrytown, enjoying the beauty of her gardens and friends until her children lovingly made the decision to move her into an Alzheimer’s community in Yonkers where she received outstanding care.

She is survived by her sons Robert (Sheila), Stephen (Jennifer), and her daughters Jennifer and Jill (Robert), five grandchildren: Robert, Jessica, Lauren, William and Abigail and four great grandchildren: Calvin, Cora, Warner and Stevie.
