Stephen Russell, Sr.

On May 9th, 2021 God received an angel. Stephen Russell Sr. was born to the late Aberdeen and Anna Russell on January 7th, 1957. Stephen was born at St. Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan and raised in The Bronx. There he attended and graduated from Columbus High School, and later went on to work as an interior demolitionist. He then went on to work at Debevoise and Plimpton where he met his beautiful wife, Donna. Stephen and Donna married on July 14, 1981. Through this union, two sons were born, Stephen Jr. and Owen William. In 1986, Stephen went to work for the MTA as a bus driver until his retirement in 2007.

Stephen was a devoted family man. He loved activities that brought his family together. If the activity included his family, he was present.  An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching sports with his two sons, and attending his grandson’s basketball games.

Stephen leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Donna, his two sons, Stephen and Owen, his daughter in-law Rosa, his grandchildren Stephen III, Mei-lin, Legen and Dimitri, his brother Raymond Sr., and his nephew Raymond Jr., as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be on Thursday May 13 from 4PM to 8PM where services will be held on Friday May 14 at 10:00 AM followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery Hastings, NY.
