Sr. Margaret Ellen Flannelly, RSHM

Sr. Margaret Ellen (Annunciation) Flannelly, RSHM, 85, died December 18, 2020.

Born in New York City, to Louis and Helen Durkin Flannelly, she entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary in 1953.

Sr. Margaret Ellen taught (1957-1959) and was principal (1973-1974) at the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Manhattan. Between 1960 and 2007, she served in many capacities at Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY where she taught political science and was dean of students and dean of freshmen. She was the alumnae chaplain of Marymount College of Fordham University (2007-2009).

She was coordinator of Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY (1997-2003) and  Provincial Councillor of the Eastern American Province of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (2008-2014). In 2018, she moved to Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY.

She is survived by the members of her religious community, many friends and those she served.
