Sr. Marcella Tyson, RSHM

Sr. Marcella Tyson (86) died October 20, 2023 at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown NY.  Born in New York City, NY, to John J. and Mary Frances Finnegan Tyson, she had been a member of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary for 65 years.           

She taught at Gerard School, Park Terrace, NYC; St. Pius X School, Rosedale, NY; Good Shepherd School, Ferguson, MO; and St. Andrew’s School, Sag Harbor, NY. She was a member of the staff of Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY and a volunteer at POTS (Part of the Solution), Bronx, NY.

In addition, she taught CCD and sang in the choir at local parishes. While living in Tarrytown, she taught CCD at Transfiguration Parish, Tarrytown, and sang in the choir at The Church of the Magdalene, Pocantico Hills.

She was living at Marymount Convent at the time of her death.

Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Visiting Wednesday, October 25, 4:00 - 7:00 pm with Vigil Service 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, October 26, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
