Sr. Kathleen (Sr. de Bon Conseil) Fagan (82) died Monday, September 25, 2023, at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown NY.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Thomas F. and Helen Dowd Fagan, she had been a member of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary for 62 years.           

An educator, dedicated to the education of young women, she taught at Marymount International School, London, England (1963-1965) and the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Sag Harbor, NY (1965-1968).

Sr. Kathleen taught at Marymount School of New York (1969-1972) before becoming head of the Upper School (1972-1976). She was named Headmistress in 1976, a position she held for 28 years (1976-2004).

She was Headmistress of Marymount International School, London, England (2005-2009), until she was asked to serve the sisters of the Eastern American Province as Provincial Superior (2009-2015).

Sr. Kathleen moved to Marymount Convent, Tarrytown, NY in 2018 and was a member of the Convent community at the time of her death.

Sr. Kathleen is predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Monsignor R. Emmet Fagan and Msgr. John T. Fagan, and her sister, Helen Marie Fagan Murphy. She is survived by her sister Jane Fagan Fucigna, nieces and nephews, and by the members of her religious family.   

Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Visiting Monday, October 2, 2023, 4:00 - 7:00 pm with Vigil Service 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
