Sr. Doris Tendai (Sr. Immaculee) Russell (98) died December 2, 2022 at Marymount Convent, Tarrytown NY.  Born in Rome, NY, to James and Stella Mary Birnie Russell, she had been a member of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM) for 77 years.                  

She served at Marymount School, Tarrytown, NY, for 21 years, working in the school office, teaching, and as assistant principal and principal. She was taught at and was principal of Marymount International School, Rome, Italy, and was principal of St. Thomas Aquinas School, Bronx, NY. She was the director of personnel for the Eastern American Province of the RSHM.

She lived in Dangamvura, Zimbabwe for 38 years, where her many ministries included teaching, pastoral outreach, and involvement in community development projects.

Predeceased by her parents and sister Jean Russell Buckley, she is survived by her nieces, Karen Buckley Shorr and Barbara Jean Buckley and her nephews, J. Russell Buckley and William H. Buckley.

Services at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Visiting Wednesday, December 7, 4:00 - 7:00 pm with Vigil Service 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, December 8, 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains.
