Sr. Anne Marie (Sr. des Victoires) Hill (85) died Wednesday, January 3. 2024 at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Sleepy Hollow. Born in Co. Clare, Ireland, to Michael and Mary Rourke Hill, she had been a member of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary for 66 years.
She taught at St. John’s School, McLean, VA; at Marymount School of New York, NYC, where she also served as principal; and at St. Killian’s Mission, Rusape, Zimbabwe.
She was head of school at Marymount International School, London, England; Marymount International School, Rome, Italy and Istituto Marymount, Rome, Italy; and Marymount International School, Paris, France.
Sr. Anne Marie was the first Director of the RSHM Network of Schools, an international network of schools uniting all its schools in a common purpose to foster the gift of internationality and to promote and deepen the commitment to the transformation of the world through the RSHM educational vision.
Sr. Anne Marie is survived by three sisters and one brother and an extended family of nieces and nephews, and by the members of her religious family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue, Tarrytown, NY, on Tuesday, January 9, at 10:30 am. Burial Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY.
