Simone I. Girard, 84, passed away on November 28, 2024 in Croton on Hudson, NY.

Simone was born on April 28, 1940 in Woonsocket, RI to Cam and Lea Pepin. After Simone graduated from Rhode Island College in 1962, she married the love of her life, Jean Laurent Girard. 

During their 27 years of marriage, they had two children: Maria and Cathy. She worked as a schoolteacher, and then with her husband in his business.  Simone was widowed in 1989 and focused her life on helping her children, grandchildren, great granddaughter, her siblings, and nieces and nephews.

Simone was an avid gardener, piano player, painter and cook.  She loved her family deeply and was passionate about her faith.

Simone was predeceased by her parents Cam and Lea, her husband Jean, her brother Cam, and her Sister Connie.

She is survived by her children: Maria McDermott and Catherine Flax-Kosecki, her grandchildren: Isaiah Flax, Ezekiel Flax, Michael Kosecki, Lea McDermott and Sara McDermott, her great-grandchildren, Savannah, Willow and Hazel Flax.

A special thanks for the staff at Springvale Nursing home who took such good care of her in the last two years of her life.

On December 4th a wake will be held at 9:00 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown, NY.  A funeral mass will follow at St Augustine Catholic Church, in Ossining NY at 11:00 am. After the mass, the procession continues to the cemetery for the burial service.  Lunch to follow.

Simone’s final resting place will be St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Ossining.
