Silverio da Silva, (74), of Poughquag NY, passed away on February 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. 

Silverio was born to Laurentino and Alita da Silva on July 11, 1948.  He worked as a machinist.  He was generous to a fault and loved sharing his home with family and friends.  He loved social events and taking pictures of everyone.  Other interests included collecting coins, almost anything related to electronics, and traveling. 

Silverio is survived by his wife Adriana, two children (Goretti & William), and stepdaughter Isabel, his two sisters (Lourdes and Rosario) and two brothers (Jose and Alfredo), and his grandchildren (Sara, Donna, Giselle, Gabriel, Sebastian, and Sergio).  Aside from his hobbies and interests, his ability to empathize with others is unmatched.  He would be the first to “show up” and “step up” if he knew someone was in pain.  He was an integral part of our Portuguese community and he will be missed. 

The viewing will be held at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown, NY on Friday February 17 from 4pm to 8pm.  A Mass will be held in his honor at St. Teresa’s Church, in Sleepy Hollow at 10:00 am on Saturday February 18."
