Sherwood B. Chorost of Tarrytown died November 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Born in Brooklyn on March 7, 1933, he was the son of Peter and Bluma (Lippman) Chorost.
Sherry, as he was known to family and friends graduated from Tilden High School, received his BA from NYU and went on to receive his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.
A PhD and Diplomate, he was a Psychologist for over 45 years with a private practice mainly in New Jersey. He had also served as a Trustee in the Village of Tarrytown.
Anyone who knew Sherry, knew he had one passion in life – baseball. He loved watching it, playing it and following it.
Sherry will be remembered as a kind and loving person who leaves behind his wife Alice Goldberg, his children Dan (Sabrina Tavi), Amy (Steve Benenson) and Michael (Victoria Nugent) and his grandchildren Giselle and Eliana Tavi Chorost and Eric and Ethan Benenson. He was predeceased by his brother Saul Chorost.
Burial will be private.
A Memorial Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Saturday November 26 from 2 PM to 4PM.
