Russell E. Taylor, Jr.

Russell E. Taylor, Jr. a longtime Ossining resident died July 2, 2018 at the age of 84. Born in Mount Pleasant on May 2, 1934, he was the son of Russell E. Taylor, Sr. and Marjorie Martin Taylor. After graduating from High School, Russell enlisted in the United States Navy and served proudly for 2 years.  On November 7, 1959, he married Elizabeth Konyecsni in the Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills.

Russell went on to have a long career with the phone company and he retired from Verizon. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and loved everything football. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Elmo Council #318 in Tarrytown.

 Russell is survived by Elizabeth, his loving wife of 59 years and his beloved children Cynthia (Anthony) Martinez of Ossining and Russell L. Taylor of Charlotte, NC. He was also the proud grandfather of Ryan, Cassidy and Emily Martinez. He is also survived by his sisters Cindy Rubino and Barbara LaFurge. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Carol Connick and brother Nelson LaFurge.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Friday at 10:00 at St. Augustine Church in Ossining. Interment with Naval Honors will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery
