After a valiant 4 year battle with cancer, Rose M. Griffin passed away on April 15, 2021. Rose was a sweet, kind woman who would selflessly do anything for anyone in need of a hand. She loved her family and especially her life partner Kathy Chulla who finally became her wife after 50 years. Rose loved the slot machines at the casinos and thought she had gone to Heaven when she found out she could play on her phone. She also loved the Yankees and going to a game with her friends was a special treat. She loved the peacefulness of sitting on their terrace listening to the birds and nature in general.
Rose was predeceased by her parents Viola (Sloat) & Myron Griffin, her daughter Nanci Bridle, grandson David and great granddaughter Briana. She was also predeceased by her brother Chester Mackey and sisters Mary Anne Guevarez and Betty Gilleo. She is survived by her wife Kathy, daughter June Bridle Garcia (Arlem), sons Matthew Murray (Christina) and Christopher Bridle and her sister Patricia Huddleston. Also surviving are her grandchildren; the ‘apples of her eye’ Arlem Garcia aka Junior (Jeremy), Nikki Garcia (Mel), Michael Garcia, Anisa Murray, Christopher Bridle (Natalie), Matthew and Luke Barlow and her “sister by another mister” Barbara Angelini. Rose had several surviving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her special niece Amanda, brothers in law Bob Chulla (Nancy), Jose Guevarez and George Gilleo. Rose will be missed by her many friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Coffey Funeral Home on Saturday April 24 from 1:00 – 4:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rosary Hill Home, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
