Rose Anderson, born Elizabeth Rose Termina, passed on from this earthly life on Saturday afternoon, August 19th, 2023. Born on October 25th, 1936 in New York City, she was just 2 months shy of her 87th Birthday. She died at Phelps Hospital, where she had spent many years as a volunteer. Rose truly enjoyed greeting the public at the front desk, and providing comfort to patients while she transported them around the hospital. Rose was also an active member and warden of her faith community at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Briarcliff, NY.
Rose spent decades working tirelessly in the name of advancements in public health. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College at Lincoln Center/Fordham University and Master of Science degree from The Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy at The New School for Social Research. She went on to lead and participate in health initiatives for many major hospitals. Throughout her life, she participated actively in furthering political and social justice causes she believed in. Her conviction and passion for justice and equity was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Rose is survived by her son, Ken; her daughter-in-law Lora; and two grandsons, Matthew and Daniel.
A wake will be held at Coffey Funeral Home at 91 North Broadway Tarrytown, New York, 4-8pm on Tuesday, September 5th. A funeral service will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church at 201 Scarborough Road in Briarcliff Manor, New York, 10am on September 6th.
