Rocco A. Martello

Rocco A. Martello, a longtime Sleepy Hollow resident died April 2, 2016 at the age of 66. Rocco was born July 14, 1949 in White Plains and was the son of Angelo and Maria Richichi Martello.

He graduated from St. Teresa’s School, Stepinac High School and Westchester Community College.  He had a long career with the United States Postal Service and retired as a supervisor in White Plains.

On September 24, 1983, he married Diane McEnroe in Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia, NY. Diane predeceased him on February 5, 2009.

Rocky was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department having been a member of Union Hose Company #2 where he had been Captain for many years and had served as President for many years. He was also a member of the Westchester County Volunteer Fireman’s Association.

Rocco is survived by his children Joseph, Maria and Angela all of Sleepy Hollow as well as his brother Sal of Stamford, CT. In addition to his wife Diane, he was predeceased by his brother Angelo.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sleepy Hollow Fire Department P.O. Box 723 Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
