Robert A. Baird of Tarrytown died February 14, 2018 after a long illness. Born in Tarrytown Hospital on February 23, 1951, he was the son of William and Margaret Thomas Baird. Bob was raised in East Irvington and graduated from Irvington High School in 1969.
His father, Bill, had him working in construction at an early age. Bob went on to open his own Plumbing and Heating business in Irvington. He went on to work for General Motors until the plant closed
Bob’s passion was the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, but his real love was Turkey hunting. It was very exciting for him and he hunted as often as he could.
Bob is survived by his wife Dolly, his son Rob and his step-son John Porcano. Also surviving are his mother Margaret Baird, his brother Billy (Budha) and his sister Mary Beth Perillo as well as his niece, nephew, uncle and cousins ‘across the pond’. He was predeceased by his father Bill and his aunt Betty Baird.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday from 3PM to 7PM where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Al celebration of his life will follow at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall in Sleepy Hollow.
