Rita O'Shea

Rita O’Shea, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died July 9, 2020 at the age of 85.

Rita was born in Grenagh, County Cork, Ireland to Michael and Margaret.  Rita and her family emigrated from England to the United States in 1977.  They lived in Queens for many years before coming to Tarrytown.

Rita worked as a waitress and captain at the Princeton Club of New York for 20 years.  When she retired, she took a part time position at the Transfiguration Church Rectory which she thoroughly enjoyed and met many of her wonderful Tarrytown friends.  She was a parishioner of Transfiguration Church.  She had been a member of the Tarrytown Seniors and was an active member of the Transfiguration Seniors and the LAOH Division 11, Tarrytown.

Rita is survived by her daughter Lisa and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Dave in 2016. She was also predeceased by her five siblings.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM.  Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 at Transfiguration Church.
