Rafael A. Bencosme

“Rafael A. Bencosme of Sleepy Hollow passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2025 at the age of 44. Born in Providence, RI on February 18, 1981, he was the son of Rafael D. and Eulalia (Guzman) Bencosme.  

He was a much loved dual language teacher at the Morse School in Sleepy Hollow. He was not only a dedicated teacher, but a cherished member of the community, whose passion, kindness, and commitment to his students left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

In addition to his parents, Rafael and Eulalia, he is survived by his brothers, Roniel, Dennis, and Steven. 

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be Saturday at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 8:00 AM followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
