Philip A. Ortiz of Elmsford died May 26, 2024 at the age of 81. Philip was born and raised in the Bronx which is where he lived most of his life. A few years ago, he and his wife Joyce came to Westchester to be closer to their son and his family. Born on October 2, 1942, he was the son of Philip and Carmela (Speziale) Ortiz.
After high school, Phil served proudly in the United States Army and Reserves from 1964-1970.
He was an avid New York Yankees fan, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family especially his granddaughters Ava and Madeline.
Phil is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, his loving son Richard and his wife Daniela DiBiase and his cherished granddaughters Ava and Madeline.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at Transfiguration Church at 10:30 followed by entombment in Rose Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors.
