Paul was the eighth of nine children born to Edward and Jean Blaney in New York City and grew up in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. From his earliest summers at Point Lookout with his brothers, Paul found great joy near and on the water particularly on the shores of LI, RI and Block Island and especially on his sailboat. Paul was educated at Cardinal Hayes High School, Iona College, and the NYU Graduate School of Business. He worked in the investment business as a financial analyst, Director of Investment Research and Mutual Fund Portfolio Manager. He was a former Allied Member of the NYSE, an exchange approved Supervisory Analyst and a past President of the NY Electronic Industry Analysts Group. He began his career as a messenger boy on the floor of the NYSE prior to entering college. Paul was an enthusiastic member of Transfiguration Church Parish where he served as treasurer of the St Vincent’s DePaul Society, a lector and a former President of the Parish Council. Paul is survived by his beloved and devoted wife and life-long friend, Margaret (Peggy), his loving children and their spouses: Paul Jr. (Nancy), Bob (Lori), Joanne, Bernadette (Luigi), Elizabeth (Anthony), and Richard (Nammrata), His wonderful 16 grandchildren: Patrick, Caroline, Joanne, Kristen, Katherine, Daniel, Michael, Lisa, James, Joseph, Richard, Matthew, Lauren, Emma, Adara and Liam, and his beautiful 11 great grandchildren; Ava, Layla, Julian, Audrey, Samantha, Emma, Nate, Zoe, Phoebe, Myles and Mason. Paul’s brothers John, Bernard, Edward, Joseph, Gerard and Lawrence and sisters Margaret and Mary predeceased him. Paul’s never ending sense of humor, storytelling skill and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
