The family of Patrick Lofaro, Jr. of Windham,New Hampshire is saddened to announce his passing on August 8, 2021 at the age of 67 years.
Patrick was born in Tarrytown on Jan. 14, 1954, the son of Lucille (Bird) and Patrick Lofaro, Sr.
Although, he and his wife,Sondra moved to New Hampshire in retirement, Patrick considered Tarrytown home - returning to see friends, family and attend as many of his grandchildren’s sports games as possible.
Patrick graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School, class of 1972. He went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from Bridgeport University.
He was employed by the Town of Yorktown as Superintendent, Dept. of Environmental Conservation, he retired in 2011.
Patrick showed true passion for his community and church. He was an active member of St. Matthew’s Church in Windham and The Knights of Columbus.
Patrick was a volunteer fireman with Riverside Hose Fire Department in Tarrytown NY, the voice of Sleepy Hollow Football games in the 90’s.
He was a longtime Ossining youth sports coach, Member of the PTA, Ossining High School Greater Ossining Television Football & Girls Basketball -Play by Play commentator.
Patrick is survived by Sondra (Swanson), his beloved wife of 41 years, his sons Christopher (Allison), Ryan (Angelica) and Trent, as well as 7 cherished grandchildren: Anthony, Brady, Nicholas, Grant, Parker, Payton and Colton. Also surviving are his step siblings, Duncan Lee, Cathy Van Saun and Les Van Saun as well as his in-laws Douglas (Lynn), Dennis (Pam) and Kerry Swanson and Bethann Yano.
He was predeceased by his parents and step-parents, step-brother Brent Lee and brother-in-law Ed Yano.
Visitation will be held at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12th from 4-8pm; funeral will be held at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown on Friday, August 13th at 10:30am with internment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
