Miguel S. Cruz of White Plains died February 1, 2020 after a long illness. He was 76. Born in Portugal on March 13, 1943, he was the son of Antonio and Maria Claridade Cruz. Miguel came to the United State about 50 years ago and settled in the Tarrytowns. On February 19, 1984, he married Gorgonia Cambillo in St. Teresa of Avila Church.
Miguel was a jeweler by trade and he was able to fix all kinds of watches and clocks. He operated his own business Michael’s Time in Harrison for many years. He enjoyed working on all clocks especially grandfather and cuckoo clocks.
He was always very active and could be seen riding his bicycle all over. He especially loved riding on the Bronx River Parkway Bicycle Sundays. He also loved to travel.
Miguel is survived by his loving wife Gorgonia ‘Dora’ and his beloved son Michael. Also surviving are his sisters Candida and Fernanda and his brother Fernando as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
