Mary Ann Blascik Obituary

MaryAnn Blascik peacefully left this earth on October 25, 2025, just shy of her 95th birthday. Born on November 4, 1930, at Tarrytown Hospital, she spent her entire life in the village of Sleepy Hollow (formerly North Tarrytown).

MaryAnn is survived by her beloved family: nephew James J. Chulla; niece MaryJean (Roy) Diemer; nephew Richard (Cathy) Chulla; and niece Norma (Brian) McKeever. She was lovingly cared for in recent years by her great-niece Sharon (Dave) Bailey, whose kindness and devotion meant so much. She also leaves behind many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will remember her with love.

She was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Joseph Blascik; her brothers Frankie, Joseph (Margaret), and John (Edith); and her sister Katherine (James) Chulla.

MaryAnn worked for County Trust and the Bank of New York for more than 35 years. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of the former Holy Cross Church in Sleepy Hollow and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.  Proud of her Slovak heritage, she was also active in the local Sokol Club, ladies lodge 42, and the Sleepy Hollow Seniors.

MaryAnn loved spending time with family and friends—especially apple picking outings and holiday gatherings. She was famous for her Slovak macaroni and cheese and her delicious crumb cake. Kind, caring, and independent, MaryAnn lived her life her way. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Saturday November 1 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 at Transfiguration Church followed by burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
