Mary Colleen Thompson Obituary
Mary Colleen Thompson, age 62, of Ossining, New York, passed away on January 14th, 2026.
Mary was a proud resident of Ossining where she spent the majority of her life and built deep roots in her community. She was the beloved mother of Thomas and Ryan, and the cherished grandmother of Julia, who brought her immense joy and pride.
The oldest of nine siblings, Mary embraced her role as big sister with strength, loyalty, and unmistakable spirit. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and granddaughter, and she adored her siblings as well as her many nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to Mary, and she never hesitated to help those she loved—her heart was truly made of gold.
Mary proudly worked for the Westchester County Department of Corrections, dedicating herself to public service. In her younger years, she also worked as a dog catcher in Westchester County, a role that reflected her fearless nature and compassion for animals. As a child, she was a Girl Scout, already showing the independence and confidence that would define her life.
Known for being sassy, outspoken, and unapologetically herself, Mary left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a proud Irish Catholic, deeply connected to her faith and heritage, which she carried with pride throughout her life.
Above all else, Mary adored her children and family. Her love, loyalty, and larger-than-life personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were lucky enough to know her.
