Marion 'Ronnie' (Fairbrother) Cerbone

Marion (Ronnie) Cerbone 7/7/32- 1/12/19- age 86

Ronnie was born to Joseph and Catherine Fairbrother in the Bronx, NY.  She spent her summers as a young girl in Smallwood, NY but it was in the Bronx where she met her husband of 59 years, Raphael.  Ronnie joined the NY telephone company while in high school and worked there for many years until moving to Irvington in 1962.  She spent countless hours on lunch duty and the PTA at Immaculate Conception School while her children were in attendance there. She was also a tremendous supporter of the Special Olympics and her athlete son, Ray.  Many in the area may even remember her as having been their Cub Scout Den Mother.

Ronnie worked for over 30 years for several food service companies (most recently Flik International) located in what is now the Siemens building in Tarrytown, where she was very well-known and loved.  She retired in 2012 on her 80th birthday, which she celebrated as a dual occasion with a wonderful party on the riverfront.  Always a young woman at heart, she loved to see everyone smile. 

Ronnie will join in heaven, her beloved grandson Joseph Lee (Joey) Cerbone, her husband Raphael Cerbone, Jr. and her son Raphael Cerbone III (Ray-Ray).  

She is survived by her children: Joe (Leanne) of Newburgh, Chris of California, Greg of NYC and Laura Lofaro (John) of Irvington and her grandchildren, Carlee-Ann Cerbone and Sage, Gregory and Calvin Lofaro.

Visiting hours will be at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown Thursday, January 17.   4 - 8 PM.
