Marie Azzaro, of Ossining died August 28, 2023 with her loving family by her side. She was 73 years old. Born in Ragusa, Sicily on April 19, 1950, she was the daughter of John and Giovanna (Schembari) Minardi. Marie was raised in North Tarrytown (Sleepy Hollow) and was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School, class of 1968.

Marie was retired after a long career at IBM where she served as the Administrative Assistant in the Chairman’s Office.

Marie will always be remembered as a woman who was dedicated to her family. Her life revolved around her family who lovingly referred to her as their ‘Wonder Woman’. She was a wonderful mother, Nana, sister and aunt who enjoyed all holidays and made every one of them special.  One of her favorite things to do was to take vacations with family. She loved to travel and particularly loved to cruise. She took her role as ‘Nana’ very seriously and became the greatest fan at all of her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Left to mourn Marie are her loving children Jennifer Marie (Jason) Velez and Jonathan (Jillian) Azzaro and her beloved grandchildren Michael, Julian and Victoria Marie Velez and Logan and Gabriella Marie Azzaro. She is also survived by her loving sister Diane (Philip) Stone as well as her niece Caroline Stone and nephew Andrew Stone. Also surviving is Russell Azzaro.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4PM to 8PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Magdalene on Thursday at 9:30 followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
