Peggy Blaney, 89 years old, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Kingbridge section of the Bronx, Peggy was the only child of George Cox and Catherine Cox (Collins). She taught for most of her years while with them, and completed 2 Masters Degrees (English Literature and History) and worked on a PHD. The friendships she made while serving with the sisters remained with her all her life.
Peggy reconnected with her dear childhood friend, Paul A. Blaney and they married in 1984 and settled in Tarrytown, NY. She was a devoted wife and partner until his passing last year. Peggy is survived by Paul’s children: Paul Jr. (Nancy), Robert (Lori), Joanne, Bernadette (Luigi), Elizabeth (Anthony) and Richard (Nammrata), 16 step grandchildren Patrick, Caroline, Joanne, Kristen, Katherine (Ricky), Daniel (Emily), Michael, Lisa (Pam), James, Joseph (Kerry), Richard, Matthew (Rebecca), Lauren (Christian), Emma, Adara, and Liam, and 12 step great grandchildren, Ava, Layla, Julian, Audrey, Samantha, Emma, Nate, Zoe, Phoebe, Zoey, Myles and Mason.
