Margaret T. (Thomas) Baird

Margaret T. Baird of Irvington died peacefully on February 3, 2019 at the age of 93. Born in Tarrytown on March 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Rowland and Mary Gray Thomas. After graduation from Irvington High School, Margaret went to work for Eastern Aircraft from 1944 to 1945. She then began a very long career at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery starting in 1945 and spanning more than 50 years. After serving in various positions in the office, she went on to serve as Secretary to the Board of Directors for many years.

Margaret was a parishioner of Irvington Presbyterian Church and a member of the Irvington Seniors. She was also inducted into the Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame.  

Margaret is survived by her son William T, her daughter Mary Beth Perillo and her daughter-in-law Dolly Baird. Also surviving are her grandchildren Heather A. Perillo, Robert J. Perillo and Robert W. Baird. Her husband William predeceased her and she was also predeceased by her son Robert in 2018.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00PM to 7:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home where services will be held on Friday at 11:00. Interment will follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
