Magda (Rizo) Pena

Magda Pena, a longtime Tarrytown resident died peacefully at home on May 22, 2025. She was 88 years old. Born in Cuba on February 3, 1937, she was the daughter of Jose and Pura Cristina Rizo. Magda, her husband and their young son fled Cuba and arrived in New York in 1960. Her parents and her sister and her family all settled in Tarrytown.

She worked for Union Carbide for many years.

Magda is survived by her son Jose (Hazel), her grandchildren Joe (Aileen), Bryan (Lisa) and Jasmine and her 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Irsis Bravo. She was predeceased by her husband.
