Kevin D. Ceconi, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow passed away November 5, 2024. He was 71. Kevin was born in Tarrytown on July 27, 1953 and was the son of Aldo and Joan (nee Lyons) Ceconi. Kevin was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Elementary School and Archbishop Stepinac High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society.

At age 13, he began caddying at Sleepy Hollow Country Club (SHCC) and later caddied on the PGA Tour where he travelled coast to coast, walking the most beautiful golf courses and working with professional golfers and celebrities. Over the years, he worked for NY Telephone and General Motors, but his passion was for golf and the SHCC members which always brought him back home.

Kevin was a voracious reader and word game enthusiast. On Saturdays, he frequented the Warner Library so he could copy the NY Times Sunday puzzle, which he always completed in ink.  He loved Wordle, Connections, acrostic puzzles and knowing the answer to Final Jeopardy.

Kevin is survived by his mother Joan, his twin brother Kenneth (Linda Pittman), sister Lizanne (Kenneth Grispin) and younger brother Richard (Patricia Ceconi). Also surviving are his nieces and nephew, Nicoleta and John Ceconi and Casey Grispin and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) Aerie 1042 in Sleepy Hollow.

Kevin’s family offers special thanks to Kevin’s laryngectomy support group, caregivers from Northwell Hospice and the dedication of Dr. Michelle Espinoza and his speech therapists, Ji and Angela.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund www.caddiescholarship.org would be appreciated in Kevin’s memory. 

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday, November 11th from 2PM to 6PM followed by a collation at the FOE, 322 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow.
