Karen Madden Obituary

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Lynn Madden (Fahey), 56, of Irvington, New York, on March 17th 2021.

Born to Thomas and Elizabeth Fahey (Tarrytown), Karen was a force to be reckoned with from the get go. She graduated from Irvington High School in 1982 and shortly after, joined the family business, TF Andrew Carpet One, where she brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.

Karen was a fiercely dedicated mother, raising four equally strong children. Karen was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn’t have Karen as our mother. From her success as a mother, Karen was then promoted to Grandma, which was a role she was made to fill. Karen was adored by her two grandchildren.

For those who knew Karen, she was a passionate animal lover and gardener.  When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found working in her yard planting sunflowers or walking in the woods with a herd of pets in all shapes and sizes. She will be forever loved and remembered.

Karen is survived by her husband Mark Madden, her children and their spouses, Erin and Rich Gordineer, Sean and Bianca Madden, Haley Madden, Molly Madden, her grandchildren, Elizabeth & Richard Gordineer, parents, Thomas Fahey and Elizabeth (predeceased), sister Amy and her husband Nick and their children, Nicky, Bridget, and Megan;  brother Brian and his wife Joanne and their children, Chris and Tommy, and brother John and his wife Kate and their children Emily, Andrew, Jack, Connor, and Emmett.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Karen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, or planting a sunflower in her memory. Although no public services will take place at this time, the family is grateful for and appreciative of your love and support during this difficult time.
