Julio Gaytan was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on April 27, 1967. He passed away on August 20, 2023.
Julio spent most of his childhood in Esquintla, Guatemala with his beloved grandmother, the late Tomasa Garcia. He and his mother Cecilia immigrated to the US when he was 17 years old. He attended and graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School where he met some of his lifelong friends.
Julio spent his career dedicated to the hospitality industry working in such places as The Tarrytown House, Doral Arrowwood, Brynwood Golf and Country Club and Hampshire Country Club.
To the people that knew him the best can say ”he was a kind-hearted man, loved his family, was generous to a fault with others, loved to have fun and was excellent at his job”. Julio’s final gift, was the gift of life through organ donation.
Julio is survived by his loving family; mother Cecilia, sister Cecilia, nieces: Emily, Evelyn (Samantha), Estefany DeLeon and Jaylyn Collins of Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday April 28 from 4PM to 8PM. His Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 10:00 followed by interment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
