Juana Gil de Rojas born on August 21st 1934, a long time resident of Bronx, NY passed away on September 2nd 2021. Juana was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Bronx, NY with her husband to give their family a better life full of opportunities, and that they did.
She worked as an Healthcare Worker for Lindon B Johnson Home Care for 10 years, from which she retired. As the profession she had chosen, she was always kind and caring to others. She had a calm and positive personality and she always made sure that the people around her felt as comfortable as they could be. Juana always put her family and friends needs before her own needs.
Her family and friends would describe her as a caring, determined, loving, proud, and humble woman. She had an incredible and profound impact on everyone she met, especially her husband, children and grandchildren as the nurturing matriarch of the family, raising her children and playing an incredible role to help raise her grandchildren.
Juana loved traveling between New York and the Dominican Republic. She also enjoyed cooking and nurturing her family with delicious home made Spanish meals. It was one of her many ways to show love and affection to her family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring and hardworking woman with an abundant amount of family and friends that loved her for her kind, generous, nurturing and motherly spirit.
Juana is predeceased by her loving husband: Pedro Rojas, and her first born Juan M Rojas. She is survived by her two daughters : Rosa M Rojas and Sandra Rojas-Tywonick, her son-in-law: William Tywonick, her two grandchildren: Stefanie and Ruben along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at a later date to celebrate Juana's well lived life.
