John Gerard Sarofeen, a longtime resident of Tarrytown, NY, left his earthly life on June 30, 2023 at the age of 60. John was born in Auburn, NY on April 14, 1963 and was the son of the late John J. and Gloria (LaHood) Sarofeen. After high school, John attended NYIT in Manhattan and graduated with a degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology.
John’s wonderful sense of humor and outgoing personality, coupled with his desire to perform for an audience, opened the door for a career in entertainment. John had success performing stand-up comedy at many clubs around the country, including Caroline’s Comedy Club in NYC. In subsequent years, John made Los Angeles his home and spent time sharing his musical talents as a guitarist and singer-songwriter. Most importantly, he made lifelong friends along the way.
John returned to New York and embarked on a new career journey; in 2000, he established and successfully operated his well-known business, Grape Expectations in Tarrytown, NY. Shortly thereafter, he met and married Christina Lore, and together they were blessed with two amazing children, Caitlyn and John, whom he cherished and adored. John is survived by his wife and children as well as his siblings Anne, Michael (Gerri), Joseph (Carole), Debra, Joan (Jim) and Gloria (Mark), along with many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his loving in-laws Anthony (Linda), William (Penny), Faye and Freddy (Nikki).
