John Morrison

John Morrison, a longtime resident of Tarrytown died July 31, 2026 in his home with his family by his side. John was 102 years old. Born in Dobbs Ferry on March 11, 1924, he was the son of Louis and Alice (Roper) Morrison. He was the last surviving of eight children.

John served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

He earned a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and had a long career with Westinghouse Corporation having retired as a Director.

John had been married to H. Janet (Duffy) for 70 years when she passed away in 2021. Together they raised 6 children and he is survived by Joan Bashant of Holiday, FL, Robert (Christine) Morrison of Hopewell Junction, NY, Eileen (James) House of Holiday, FL, Joseph Morrison of Tarrytown; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Janet, John was predeceased by his son Brian Morrison and his daughter Jeanne McComas.   

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral on Friday August 7, 2026 from 3PM to 7PM. His Funeral Mass will be Saturday August 8 at Transfiguration Church at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
