John Duffy Obituary

John M. Duffy

August 29, 1969 – April 6, 2021

John Michael Duffy, a resident of Tarrytown, NY, died April 6, 2021 at the age of 51.  Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Dennis B. Duffy (deceased) and Jane (Kundracik/Duffy) Music.

John was a graduate of Lake Carmel High School (NY) and served in the United States Navy from 1988-1990.  He was employed as an electrical worker for several years but truly loved his work as a caddy at several Westchester country clubs throughout his career, and was looking forward to resuming his work for the coming season.

John was a beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and uncle to his extensive family.  He was a gentle, thoughtful man who brought kindness and humor to everyone he met.  From his earliest days, he enjoyed nature and outdoor activities, his favorites being golf and fishing.  He was an ardent sports fan and followed baseball, basketball, golf and football, including his Ohio State Buckeyes.

John is survived by his mother Jane Music (Sylvania, OH), his stepfather Dennis Music (Sylvania, OH) and his stepmother, Barbara Duffy (Covina, CA).  He is also survived by his siblings: Jill O’Hara (Toledo, OH), Melinda Miller (Edmond, OK), Melissa Tsume (Hillsboro, NJ), Michael Music (West Hartford, CT), Thomas Duffy (Groton, CT), Mary Duffy (Covina, CA), James Duffy (Girard, OH) and Anne Duffy (Boardman, OH).  John was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Duffy (Youngstown, OH), and his grandparents Michael and Margaret Kundracik (Youngstown, OH) and John and Mary Duffy (Youngstown, OH).

John’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Northwestern Westchester and Lenox Hill Hospitals and his many friends in Tarrytown for their care and concern.
