Jeanne A. Comito, of Carmel, NY died unexpectedly on November 25, 2020 at the age of 51. Jeanne was raised in Tarrytown having been born in Sleepy Hollow on May 5, 1969. She was the daughter of Frank V. and Ellen Edwards Comito.
Jeanne was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School and went on to Berkeley College to become a Paralegal. She had worked for Tetko in Ossining and then worked for Homerica in White Plains.
Jeanne had a wonderful sense of humor and had an ability to make anyone laugh. All you had to do was look at her and you would know something funny was about to be said. Her friend Alison could tell you all about that.
Jeanne also loved to crochet. She was so good at it, and she made so many beautiful scarves and blankets for her family and friends. It brought her such great joy, and each piece was made with love and perfection.
Jeanne and her boyfriend, Tom Tibby, lived in Carmel with their 4 legged “children” Heidi and Stella (Peanut, Cuddles, Chief, and Brandy passed before her).
Additionally, she is survived by her loving sister Donna (Lenny) Rutigliano of Sleepy Hollow, her loving brother Frank P. (Donna) Comito of Florida, and her nephews Lenny and Frank Rutigliano. She was the best aunt Lenny and Frank could ever ask for. She was predeceased by her father Frank, the former Chief of Police in Chappaqua, and her mother Ellen “LaLa” Comito.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the family will have a private service for Jeanne on Friday, December 4, 2020, and she will then be buried with her parents in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the ASPCA would be appreciated.
