James Zarrilli Obituary

James A. Zarrilli of Croton-on-Hudson, NY died peacefully at his home on August 22, 2024 at the age of 94. Born on October 7, 1929 in North Tarrytown, he was the son of Giuseppe and Maddalena (Addonizzio) Zarrilli. He was raised in North Tarrytown and attended the public schools, including North Tarrytown High School. Jim went on to serve proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was discharged as a Corporal after having earned the Korean Service Medal, 2 Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. 

After his service, Jim had a long career with General Motors. He started out on the assembly line, worked his way up to Foreman and was a Quality Control Engineer at the time of his retirement.  He was an avid runner throughout his life.

On October 29, 1950, he married Agnes T. DiCioccio in St. Ann’s Church in Ossining and they had been married for 46 years when she predeceased him in 1996.

Jim was a member of UAW Local 664 and had been a member of the Sleepy Hollow Seniors.

He is survived by his loving daughter Linda Given and her husband Richard as well as his grandchildren Lindsay and Richard Given. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews including Frank (Janet) Massari and Mark (Adelia) Massari and his grand niece Sofia Massari. In addition to his wife Agnes, he was predeceased by his siblings Carmen Zarrilli, Mary Norris, Michael Zarrilli, Anthony Zarrilli, Frances Ferrara, Lucy Tanzillo, Angela Massari and Madelyn Hughes.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday August 26 from 2PM to 6PM. His Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 at St. John Paul, II Church in Sleepy Hollow followed by interment in St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining.
