Giuseppe Tamburro

Giuseppe Tamburro of Tarrytown, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept 5th at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Giuseppe was born on Feb 19, 1929 in Mirabello Sanitico, Italy.  He emigrated to Tarrytown in 1963 with his wife Giovanna and sons Pietro and Vincenzo. Giuseppe worked in the construction trade and helped build many of the large office buildings in the area.

Giuseppe was a kind and generous man to his family and friends in the United States and Canada, and he remained very close to his relatives in Italy.  Although Giuseppe grew up very poor and had only a fifth grade education, he and his wife Giovanna were proud to have raised two college students who would later become engineers. Giuseppe led a full life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son Peter (spouse Jeanne Liburdi), daughter-in-law Karen, grandchildren Anthony (spouse Kathryn), Taylor, Louis, Jake, Morgan, Kyle, and his great grandson, Lucas.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife Giovanna, his son Vincenzo, sister Assunta, brothers Paula, Nicola, Luigi, and Erminio.

Giuseppe will be buried with a Catholic mass at Saint John Paul II Immaculate Conception Church in Sleepy Hollow at 11am on Friday,    Sept. 8th.

There will be a bereavement visitation before the mass between 9am and 10:30am at Coffey Funeral Home, 91 North Broadway, Tarrytown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint John Paul II at the Immaculate Conception Church, 199 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591.
